2026 Graylyn Pool Season Announcement
We would like to share an important update regarding the upcoming Graylyn Pool season. During part of the summer, the Graylyn Estate, including the pool facilities, have been reserved by a private group. As a result, the pool will operate on a modified schedule for the season.

To reflect the shortened season, prorated membership rates will be offered and may be viewed in the chart below. Registration dates for the 2026 pool season will be announced on our website on Monday, February 2, 2026.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Graylyn Estate and Wake Forest University, and hope you will join us for a summer of swimming and relaxation during the heart of the season.

Policies, Rules & Regulations
The rules and regulations of Graylyn Pool & Tennis Club are designed to ensure the safe and sanitary operation of the pool and for the protection and benefit of all users of the pool and tennis court facilities. The responsibility of parents and/or adult members who accompany children to the pool continues while children are in or near the pool. All family members and guests shall observe all rules and obey the instructions of the lifeguards.
- Membership check-in is required at each pool or tennis court visit.
- Parking is available on the side and behind the Management House only. Violators may be ticketed or towed.
- Members may bring up to two (2) guests to the pool or tennis court at each visit. Adult children are welcome at the pool when accompanied by a member as a guest. Guests fees are $5/per guest. No guest will be admitted into the pool area without the presence of a member.
- All members will conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Running, wrestling, dunking, horseplay, and dangerous use of the diving board are prohibited.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at the pool and tennis court.
- Animals and pets are not permitted within the fenced area of the Graylyn Pool.
- Swim diapers are required for children in diapers. Diaper changing is to be done on the changing table or on personal blankets, not on the pool deck or picnic tables.
- To swim in deep water, any swimmer of questionable ability must pass a test administered by the Lifeguard. A swimmer who cannot pass this test is allowed in the deep water only if accompanied in the water by a parent/guardian and is not allowed to use the diving board.
- Floats and inflated devices are permitted at the discretion of the Lifeguards
- There will be a 10-minute break every hour. No one will be allowed in the pool during this time.
- Thunder/Lightning Policy: When thunder is heard, or lightning is seen, the pool must be completely evacuated for a period of 30 minutes. Members may be asked to leave the pool area for their safety.
- Posted pool hours may be altered based on weather, maintenance, or other circumstances that require pool closure. Members will be notified of changes to hours of operation via the Google group mailing list.
- Food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed only in designated picnic and grassy areas. No gum is allowed inside the pool gates. Members are responsible for their own clean-up. No grills or open flames are allowed within the pool gates at any time. Alcoholic beverages of any kind are not permitted.
- Glass containers, including baby bottles, are prohibited in the pool area.
- Parents and/or guardians are also responsible for their children outside of the fenced-in pool area.
- No smoking around or inside the fenced pool area.
- The Graylyn Pool accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged personal belongings.
- In all matters of conduct and safety, the decision of the lifeguard is final.
Repeated failure to comply with these rules shall be considered cause for suspension or revocation of membership and forfeiture of fees.
- Members can bring up to 2 guests each time they visit the pool or tennis court.
- Adult children can come as guests, but they must be with a member.
- The guest fee is $5 for each guest.
- Guests cannot enter the pool area alone. A member must be with them to enter.
The following rules are in place to ensure the safe, fair, and enjoyable use of the tennis courts for all members and their guests.
- Court Access:
- Graylyn Pool Members and Guests of Graylyn Hotel and Conference Center have access to the tennis courts.
- Membership check-in is required at each tennis court visit.
- Court Use:
- Tennis court time is on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are permitted.
- Tennis courts are for tennis play only. Courts should not be used as a playground, recreation area, or for non-tennis activities.
- Please limit play to one (1) hour when other members are waiting for the court.
- Be courteous and allow others the opportunity to play if courts are in demand.
- Members may bring up to two (2) guests to the tennis court at each visit. Adult children are welcome when accompanied by a member as a guest. Guests fees are $5/per guest. No guest will be admitted into the tennis area without the presence of a member.
- Equipment:
- Members must provide their tennis rackets and balls. Equipment will not be supplied by Graylyn Pool & Tennis Club.
- Attire:
- Appropriate tennis attire is required, including shirts and proper tennis shoes.
- Supervision:
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times while using the tennis courts.
- Animals:
- Animals and pets are not permitted within the fenced area of the tennis court.
- General Courtesy:
- Please be respectful of others waiting to play and maintain good sportsmanship.
Summer Employment
Graylyn Pool offers multiple lifeguard opportunities during the summer months. We are seeking motivated individuals to provide great customer service for our members and Graylyn overnight guests.
Open Positions
Lifeguard
- Ensures personal safety for any individual using the Graylyn Pool & Tennis Club facilities including the swimming pool, locker rooms, showers, and surrounding areas through preventative guarding methods. Lifeguards must respond accordingly with sound lifeguarding principles to any emergency situation that may occur in the pool or surrounding area
Lifeguard Assistant Manager
- Lifeguarding position at the outside pool at Graylyn Conference Center. The assistant manager will be responsible for communications with pool advisors as well as supervising and scheduling lifeguards. Must be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner. Highest priority is to ensure patron safety at all times. Additionally, must be prepared to act quickly and correctly at all times especially in emergency situations; know and consistently enforce pool rules and regulations, and act in a professional manner at all times.
Special Events & Pool Rental
The Graylyn Pool has limited availability for current members’ private functions. If the pool is reserved for a private function it will be closed and members will be notified via email of the closing.
- Special Event reservations are available on weekdays only.
- Rental Fee: $1,000 (up to 4 hours) plus the cost of lifeguards
- Lifeguard Fees: Two (2) lifeguards must be on staff during the duration of the event. The fee is $25 per hour per lifeguard regardless of swimming activity.
