Details


Affordable, safe, and comfortable housing for the summer months can often be difficult to find, but with the Wake Summer Housing Intern Program, your housing is just a phone call away. Wake SHIP provides you with a comfortable home away from home during your summer internship, it offers the opportunity to interact with other interns from the local area, across the country, and around the world.

Wake Forest University provides convenient and affordable apartments for all your internship housing needs. Our campus apartment style housing includes the option of a private or shared living suite with laundry facilities, a gated community, wireless internet, cable television, convenient parking and dining locations and more.

Eligibility


We welcome all individuals at least 18 years of age, involved in non-classroom academic coursework, such as but not limited to, thesis, dissertation work, or internship work related to an academic discipline or other special circumstances in the Triad area.

Registration Deadline


While there is no registration deadline for intern housing, placement is based on a first come first serve basis.

Arrival & Departure Information


Check In

All Guests are welcome to check in between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday at the Conference Services office located in Polo Residence Hall. We strongly recommend you call the 24- hour assistance number prior to your arrival, to ensure our team is prepared for your arrival. Saturday and Sunday arrivals will need to be arranged by calling our office prior to your requested date to arrange with a staff member to meet you.

Check Out

All Guests are welcome to check out of housing between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday at the Conference Services office, located in Polo Residence Hall. Saturday and Sunday departures will need to be arranged by calling our office prior to your requested date to arrange with a staff member to meet you.

Departures on August 2, 2019 must check out no later than noon. 

*As a reminder, all Guests are allowed one check-in and one check-out per stay within our facilities.*


ACCOMMODATIONS

HOUSING DETAILS


Our outstanding amenities and utilities are incorporated in the nightly rate.  Wake SHIP on campus apartment style housing includes the option of a private or shared living suite with laundry facilities, a gated community, wireless internet, cable television, convenient parking and dining locations. Bedrooms are private and come furnished with a bed and clothing storage.  Residents are responsible for furnishing all essential amenities including: television, linens, cookware, dishes, etc.

What’s Provided:

  • Each room includes an extra-long twin bed (36″ by 80″), a dresser, a desk and chair, a closet or wardrobe, window blinds, microwave, and a mini or full size refrigerator.

    Bicycles
    You are welcome to bring your bike, but you cannot easily store it in your room. Bike racks are provided around the residence halls. Be sure to bring a bike lock for security!

KEYS, ACCESS CARDS & LOCKOUTS


All Guests in Wake Summer Housing Intern Program are assigned keys for access to their apartment. Under no circumstances are these keys to be loaned or given to anyone else.

Guests who lose their key(s) /access card during the course of their stay on campus must report such loss to the Conference Service office within 24 hours. In the event of a lost or unreturned apartment key, all apartment locks will be changed, even if the roommates, where applicable, have not lost their keys or the other bedrooms are not occupied.

LOST KEY CHARGE: $75.00

LOST ACCESS CARD CHARGE: $15.00

Upon check-out from University housing, all keys/access cards must be returned. Failure to do so will result in lost key charges.
