This month’s employee spotlight is our parking Enforcement Officer, Tim Everidge. He’s been working for Wake since 2004 and to celebrate all of Tim’s achievements, we asked him a few questions about his time here at Wake.

Tell us more about your role and background.

I am a parking enforcement officer. I write the cars that are in violation of a ticket. I also make the signs and place them out for all the reserved space requests.

What made you apply for a position at Wake?

I actually started working for WFU with the Police Dept as a Gate Officer. A position in Parking became available and it was a chance to move to the first shift, that was my motivation.

What’s a highlight from your years of service?

The highlight of my job is this honor, but I will tell you a story about myself. I pulled into Lot N, wrote a ticket, and placed it on a car. When I got back to my truck, I discovered I had locked the keys on the inside. I stood outside in the cold for about 40 minutes waiting for someone to bring me the spare key. Needless to say, I was freezing. When I finally got in my truck, I couldn’t stop laughing at myself, because I discovered the window on the passenger side was rolled down the whole entire time.

What is your favorite part about your job? What excites you most?

The most exciting part of my job is watching the kids come out and see that you have issued them a citation, and listening to them give their explanation. Then to see their faces of amazement when you tell them you are going to cut them a break and take the citation back.

What do you see as your biggest accomplishment during your years of service?

My biggest accomplishment is simply helping the kids whenever I can, I like to joke with them.

What is your favorite hobby or activity to do outside of work?

The hobby I enjoy most is to enjoy a nice cigar as I am reading a good book.

Thank you Tim for all your hard work! We are so lucky to have you on our team!
