Deacon Dining: What’s New Fall 2025
What’s New at Deacon Dining?
As the campus buzz begins and your return to Wake Forest gets closer, we’re serving up a dining experience that goes beyond the plate. From convenience to care, every choice we make centers around your experience, lifestyle, and values.
Here are 10 things you should know (or try!) as you head into the fall semester:
1. Just Try It + Pick Your Portion at The Pit
Get a taste before you commit. This new concept lets you sample dishes before filling your plate and choose a portion size that feels right for you. It’s a simple way to reduce food waste while making sure you enjoy every bite.
2. Green Box To-Go is Expanding
Now available at North Dining Hall, The Pit, and La Sabrosa, our reusable Green Box program lets you take your meal to-go for a one-time $5 deposit (plus tax). It’s great for on-the-go days, or dining wherever you feel most comfortable.
3. Too Good To Go = Less Waste, More Taste
Through our partnership with Too Good To Go, you can now pick up surprise bags of delicious, unsold food from Smith’s, the P.O.D. Market, and Einstein’s at a reduced price. It’s a fun way to fight food waste and score something tasty.
4. Fresh Picks at Forest Greens
Forest Greens is leveling up with a brand-new lineup of fresh sandwiches made with real, seasonal ingredients.
5. Shorty’s: New Burgers, Drinks + Baked Potatoes
Shorty’s is getting a refresh with craveable new burger options, expanded drink choices, and a whole baked potato menu.
6. Frozen Drinks Are Coming to La Sabrosa
Need to cool off between classes? La Sabrosa has added frozen Horchatta and Tractor Mangonada to the menu!
7. A New Mediterranean Concept at The Pit
Keep an eye out for our newest culinary addition. A fresh, flavorful Mediterranean station is coming soon to The Pit.
8. Food Truck Nights Are Now on Mondays
We’ve moved Food Truck Fridays to Monday evenings from 5–8 PM. Start your week off with good eats and a change of pace.
9. Grubhub + P.O.D. = Easier Snacking
You can now place Grubhub orders for the P.O.D. Market at Davis, making it easier than ever to grab the essentials.
