Join us in welcoming our new Director of Culinary Innovation, Chef Ryan Smith!

Ryan grew up in central Michigan and attended culinary school at IUP Academy of Culinary Arts in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. After graduating culinary school he worked in numerous establishments including country clubs, resorts, independently owned restaurants, healthcare facilities and was a personal sous chef for professional golfer,  Arnold Palmer.

In a recent interview with our Dining team, Chef Ryan was asked what he was most looking forward to in his new role here at Wake.

My goal here at Wake Forest is to build a team and culture of culinary professionals that strive each and every day to create the ideal customer experience. From purchasing high quality local ingredients to the preparation, cooking and serving of all the food for Wake Forest students, faculty and staff. I want there to be an experience with their dining selections.

We look forward to all the amazing and innovative experiences Chef Ryan will bring to the table!
